The Roots of Patriot Air
Tom’s journey began fresh out of high school when he knew one thing for certain-he didn’t want to be stuck behind a desk.
“I was just mechanically inclined and always wanted to work with my hands. It seemed like a natural fit for me,” Tom said.
So, after graduating from Fargo South he enrolled in HVAC school, worked his way up through a union shop to the very top, and then realized there was nowhere else to grow. That’s when the idea for Patriot Air was born.
From the start, Patriot Air has been a hands-on operation. Tom himself created the name, designed the logo, and even envisioned the distinctive van wrap that customers often compliment.
“I take great pride in my work. When I install something, I’m not just doing it the easiest way for me-I’m thinking about making it service-friendly for the next person who works on it,” Tom said. “I instill that in my team. We do things the right way.”

Every member of Patriot Air’s small but mighty crew shares a deep connection to the trades. Jenny, Tom’s fiancée and the company’s dispatcher, comes from four generations of tradespeople—her great-grandfather and grandfather were blacksmiths, and her father a drywaller. David, one of Patriot Air’s technicians, is also a secondgeneration tradesman who came to the area for college track before pivoting into HVAC. Their apprentice Marley is an Air Force veteran, who brings the same discipline and dedication to customer service that he brought to serving the country.
This lineage matters. It means the people walking into your home have more than technical knowhow—they have a heritage of hard work, pride in their craft, and a commitment to doing right by their neighbors.

Patriot Air isn’t about upselling you into the biggest system on the market. They’re about finding the right solution for your situation—whether that means a simple repair to buy you time for a replacement or building the “Taj Mahal” of indoor air systems for customers who want all the bells and whistles.
One week, they might help a family extend the life of their current AC so they can save for a new one. The next, they might design a full comfort package complete with humidifier, air purifier, and advanced filtration for allergy relief. All along the way they ask themselves, “What’s right for this customer, right now?”
