The Fargo Air Museum is more than planes—it’s about learning, history, and community. Focused on promoting aviation through education, preservation, and restoration, it invites visitors of all ages to explore the skies. The museum provides unique opportunities for youth, veterans, and aviation enthusiasts to experience the world of flight.

Camps and Programs That Inspire the Next Generation
Fargo Air Museum’s mission for outreach is most focused on their Youth Aviation Camps and STEAM Camps, which run from January through November. These programs provide young learners with a hands-on introduction to aviation and encourages them to explore various career paths in the industry. Each month brings new themes, offering children multiple ways to engage with aviation and find what sparks their interest.
In addition to camps, the museum offers flight simulator sessions, drone experiences, and history nights, which create interactive learning opportunities beyond the classroom. “We want to spark curiosity and inspire passion,” said volunteer education coordinator Dave Mohn, who has been leading these programs for over a decade.

A Welcoming Space for Veterans
The museum also holds a special place for veterans. Every second Wednesday of the month, the Fargo Air Museum hosts a Veterans Coffee Hour, complete with coffee, donuts, and conversation. This event provides a space for veterans to connect, share stories, and enjoy camaraderie. With record attendance reaching 98 veterans, the event is one to be proud of.
Learning Through Hands-On Experiences
The museum’s interactive exhibits and activities make learning accessible and exciting for all. Visitors can try their hand at flight simulators, operate drones, and explore aviation history through guided tours. With over 800 students touring the museum annually from across the Midwest, the Fargo Air Museum continues to engage young minds and cultivate a love for aviation.
Connecting with the Community
The Fargo Air Museum thrives on the dedication of its staff and volunteers, each bringing their passion for flight and storytelling to the forefront.
“Our goal is to make aviation history accessible to everyone,” said Mohn. “Through education and personal connections, we aim to inspire all who walk through our doors—whether it’s a young child on their first tour, a veteran at coffee hour, or a flight enthusiast.”
