Audio Garage — Where Passion Meets Precision In Vehicle Restyling!

What started as a teenage hobby in a small garage has grown into one of the region’s most respected automotive restyling shops. Audio Garage, operating out of its current south Fargo location since 2014, was built on the passion of Founder Nick Paulson—who, alongside his tech-savvy brother, Zac, began by building custom fiberglass enclosures and stereos for coworkers at Case New Holland.

Within six months of graduating high school, Nick launched his first iteration of the business: The Glass Garage.

“We started in my brother’s garage, which was so small that when we’d work on the driver’s side, we’d have to pull it all the way to the passenger side so we could open up the driver’s door,” Nick said.

As demand exploded through word-of-mouth and quality workmanship, the business rebranded to Audio Garage—a name more fitting for their growing reputation in car audio and customization. Though Zac stepped away in 2008, his early influence and support were crucial. Today, Nick continues to lead the charge, still personally performing services like paint protection, which has become his “art form.”

The Powerhouse Team

Despite its small size, the Audio Garage team is packed with talent that rivals national shops.

Tim, the shop’s manager, keeps daily operations running smoothly and ensures projects stay on track from start to finish. With a sharp eye for organization and a customer-first mindset, he bridges the gap between front-of-house consultations and back-of-shop execution.

Caleb, the younger brother of Nick, serves as the frontend product specialist. He provides detailed client consultations for audio systems tailored to individual listening preferences, not just price points.

Dylan brings nearly 11 years of experience and is one of about 200 Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) Certified Expert Technicians nationwide—a certification that validates elite-level mobile electronics expertise.

Kyle, the lead window tinting specialist and shop foreman, has been with the team for 15 years. He’s known for his artistry in wiring and installations, with a deep (and evolving) understanding of modern vehicle systems.

Jeff, the newest technician, comes with 20 years of audio experience, adding another layer of veteran expertise.

The team’s strength is in technical ability and an obsession with customer service and follow-through.

“We’re not just trying to service the issue—we want to service the client’s needs… That’s what sets us apart from anything you’re just going to purchase online… You have to have that person behind the product to be able to service it and take care of it,” Nick said.

This client-first approach is baked into every consultation, where technicians ask detailed questions to understand what the customer wants AND why they want it—whether it’s a smoother audio experience, better safety, or a complete style overhaul. The goal is a perfect fit, every time.
