Sitting inside the market of Brewhalla, with savory ramen-esque noodle bowls and steamed bao buns, this new spot is filling a much-anticipated dish genre in the FM area, but with a North of Normal twist—of course. The menu has a variety of small plates, like steamed pork dumplings and the ramen latke bowl, along with bao buns like dirty buns and maitake mushroom buns. Lundy's lce Cream
Just in time for sunny cravings, Lundy’s Ice Cream is open in West Fargo, located in The Lights development and Essentia Health Plaza. Lundy’s proudly features Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream as its exclusive ice cream vendor—a partnership that brings over 60 years of ice cream crafting experience to our city, as well as super-premium ice cream delights. Certified by me (someone with no qualifications besides tastebuds), the ice cream nachos are everything you could want, and more.
The Noble Hare
A new speakeasy-inspired joint has opened—The Noble Hare is the spot for bourbon and wine enthusiasts, stationed in the growing downtown West Fargo area, their carefully curated selection encourages visitors to engage in the could-be-called lost art of conversation in a cozy setting. Whether looking to unwind with a glass of fine wine or sip on a meticulously crafted cocktail, The Noble Hare invites you in!
West Main Pizza
West Main Pizza, a beloved Ada, MN classic, has opened a second location in the up-and-coming Dilworth Rail District. This family-run establishment is committed to quality and a family-friendly atmosphere. With the same hometown feel, but in a spiffy new space, this new location has a kitchen window allowing customers to watch the pizza-making process before they enjoy it. While it is just really good pizza, the menu is robust— featuring paninis, subs, calzones, wraps, salads, apps, wings, nachos, pasta, and even sweet treats like limoncello cake and soft serve. As a born and raised Midwesterner, I have to recommend the “What’s The Dill” pizza (pickle pizza), with a side of ranch of course.
CJ's Tavern
CJ’s Tavern recently opened its doors inside the clubhouse of Fargo’s Rose Creek Golf Course. Located in a space previously occupied by various local restaurants, the tavern just launched their full menu, featuring a variety of burgers and handhelds, appetizers, wings, a kids menu, and more! Enjoy the daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m. with over a dozen beers on tap!
Red's Savoy Pizza
Now open in south Fargo, Red’s Savoy Pizza has launched its 20th location, bringing its beloved ‘Sota Style pizza to the Red River Valley. This new pizza spot aims to deliver top-notch ‘za with a commitment to quality. The Minnesotabased chain, known for its unique take on pizza and dedication to community engagement, is on track to become a local favorite with “wow-worthy” food. Some insider tips—while it may be tempting to check the “extra cheese” box while ordering, trust that there is a hefty layer of cheese on these pizzas, and they cover the toppings with cheese so you’re always guaranteed a bite of melty goodness! So, save the coin on adding extra cheese, and make sure to try their seasonal pie flavor!

Benedict's Morning Heroes
Highly anticipated Benedict’s Morning Heroes is finally here to offer a unique take on modern diner experiences. They’re ready to take your typical breakfast, brunch, and lunch options and make them just a little bit extra with inventive pancakes, house-made tater tot hashes, and entirely new variations of eggs benedict. The Fargo location is part of the restaurant’s expansion, joining its existing locations in Wayzata and Rochester, MN. Whether you’re in the mood for classic comfort foods or new culinary adventures, you’ll find Benedict’s to be your morning hero. And if you’re someone who wants to make sure there’s something to add a kick to your breakfast, Benedict’s house-made hot sauce is spicy and delicious—and they’ll eventually be selling it so you can take the tastes home!
Chalili's Chicken & Wings
This new chicken spot in Fargo offers everything feathered from wings to sandwiches (sans feather, of course). This unique spot is catching the attention of local food enthusiasts as the first Chalili’s south Fargo location near 45th St is currently under renovation, but the newest spot at 318 10th St N, Fargo is open for business and cravings. Make sure to ask for the Haitian menu if you’re interested, they don’t have that on display. We’re hearing that it’s affordable, flavorful, and filling—three pieces to complete the puzzle! Plus, if you want spice, your desire can be obliged.
Pho TiTi
What makes pho, well, pho? The meat and broth—and Phở TiTi has the offerings to compete. With 14 different kinds of pho on the menu, plus add-ons, on top of specials and small plates—this is the most expansive pho offering in the FM area. And, it’s really good too.
Soho 23
Soho 23 is a Korean and Japanese restaurant inside the 25th Street Market. The menu brings together traditions to provide unforgettable flavors, from authentic Korean street food to traditional Japanese dishes, all curated by restauranteur and owner Jin Myung and talented Chef Derek Kinoshita. From bibimbap that makes you feel like you’re wrapped up in homey love to mouthwatering spicy pork bulgogi, the menu is filled with comfort and flavor. Plus, you can order a bottle of Soju to enjoy with dinner!
Marge's Bar Boozy Brunch
While Marge’s Bar is not necessarily new, they’ve been bitten by the brunch bug and have launched Boozy Brunches on weekend mornings from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. The food menu is simple, but filled with delectable plates that marry cozy Midwestern comfort with classic breakfast tastes. The “boozy” portion of the name is where Marge’s will shine, with a variety of cocktails, classic drinks, and Bloody Mary skewer add-ons!
El Agave
El Agave completely blindsided the FargoMoorhead area—in the best way. This newest spot, conveniently located off 45th St, offers authentic Mexican cuisine with a huge variety of entrées, along with fresh, tableside, handmade, guacamole. Most would say that El Agave is one of the top contenders for the best Mexican food in the area (some staff here say it is the best, but that’s not for us to decide), and the best part of all? It offers all this and more at an affordable price! If you have a sweet tooth, try the Candy Floss Margarita—with blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave syrup, served with delicious, pink cotton candy!

Midwest Bounce & Rentals
At the beginning of March, Midwest Bounce & Rentals hosted their grand reopening in their new space in Horace – at 7510 66th St S, just north of the Horace Middle School in a big red building!
Moonrise Cafe
Not just another coffee shop downtown, Moonrise Cafe, in what was formerly known as Moxie Java, serves up a wide array of coffee options like iced mochas, lattes, chai teas, and more; but that’s not all. This is also the bakery home of Heart Cakes, a beloved local custom cake shop that has shook the FM area for its tastes and aesthetics. Located at 111 Broadway N, Fargo, it’s a perfect spot for those looking for a cozy environment, a good cup of coffee, and (my favorite part) a sweet or savory snack that is not only tasty but also includes ingredients from local producers!
El Taco Rojo
While you might be prepared to—very happily, I might add—munch on some classic food court dishes when you visit West Acres, El Taco Rojo cuts through the chatter and offers fresh ingredients in delicious meals. Owned by locals with a passion for the cuisine, they’re serving up authentic Mexican flavors with plates like quesabirria, tacos al pastor, birria, burritos, and more! Watch your meal cooked fresh right in front of you, and make sure you try the Agua de Fresa or a refreshing bottle of Mexican Coke!
Cairo Restaurant & Bar
Another restaurant has opened in the 45th St spot, called Cairo Restaurant & Bar—and it seems promising. Offering African and Middle Eastern dishes, including Egyptian and Iranian dishes, their more popular dishes are a variety of meats with rice and crispy chicken wings. Keep an eye out as the weather warms this spring and summer, as this building offers a rooftop patio!

Spaghetti Western
Cozied up on the corner of Broadway and 6th Ave N, Spaghetti Western has quickly made a name for itself as a go-to destination for authentic Italian cuisine in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Opened by a family passionate about their Italian roots, the restaurant fills the “pasta void” in town with a menu showcasing homemade pasta, traditional sauces, and imported delicacies from Italy. The recipes, inspired by the owners’ grandmothers, include local favorites like Grandma’s Meat Sauce, as well as the carbonara and tiramisu. Whether you’re visitng for a special occasion or to curb your carbo-cravings, between the dishes and the environment, you’ll feel like part of the family when you visit. Plus, make sure you try something from the wine menu— all bottles are imported from Italy as well!
Mangata Wine & Raw Bar and Unicorn Park Fine Foodery
If you’ve been to Brewhalla, you know that it can be a magical experience—and Unicorn Park is no different. With the different yet complimentary Mångata Wine & Raw Bar across the floor, you can find what you’re craving inside Brewhalla. Both led by the creative Chef Ryan Nitschke (yes, owner of Luna Market, Sol Ave Kitchen near Junkyard Brewing, and Nova Eatery at Fargo Brewing), Unicorn Park features whimsical dishes that combine local farm produce with creative, savory flavors, while the Wine & Raw Bar offer exactly what it sounds like—a delicious, seafood taste unique to the FM area. These are merely a glimpse into the variety of local culinary offerings in, not only Brewhalla but, the FM area. Pro tip: when ordering Unicorn Park, place your order with the expectation of wandering through the market while you wait, the line can get pretty long (especially on the weekends)—but worth it!

After months of trying out the menu, and encouraging readers to visit, I finally did some deep digging on Vampire Penguin… and I found out, it’s the most unserious brand with the most delicious flavors. It’s truly a go-to for an icy treat with a twist. The founders, two brothers who love ice desserts and penguins, invented the different dishes, made up a fun story about a penguin who is also a vampire, and opened the business—sometimes it’s just about the simple fun, especially when it involves crazy tasty treats. The perfect sweet indulgence for someone who is also a coffee lover is the Polar Affogato—featuring a scoop of ice cream, two shots of espresso, whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar!
Michele's Table
A charming French bistro near NDSU is serving up mouthwatering desserts, daily soup specials, and more. Channel your inner “Emily in Paris” and order a Café Noisette (espresso with a dollop of steamed cream) and scone, or grab a cup of soup—either way, enjoy our slice of The City of Light from the city of Fargo!
Pizza Done Right
If you want something done right, you do it yourself—well, not in every case. Inside the iconic Bowler off University, Pizza Done Right has launched and we’re craving it. This emerging spot is known for crafting exceptional pizzas and is led by Tim Olauson, the owner with nearly a decade of industry experience. With a focus on high-quality food at reasonable prices, including classic pizzas along with other bar fare, the kitchen has also expanded into catering for events at the Bowler. What we think makes their pizzas stand out is not only the balanced ingredients but the handmade (super secret recipe) dough… we don’t know what’s in it, but it’s sure done right.

Taj India
Owned by locals Malkit Singh and Mindy Kaur, Taj India brings the rich flavors of North Indian cuisine and pairs it with some top-notch customer service. Like other offerings in the area, the menu has a large range of dishes for all diets, vegetarian and vegan included, and take special care of those and their gluten-free customers. But, unlike other restaurants, Taj India offers a lunch special that gets you two entree choices, rice, two vegetable pakora (fritters made with chickpea flour), naan, and a dessert of the day. If you’re not going for the lunch special there are two things that are a must try—Peshwari naan (dessert naan, but you don’t have to eat it with dessert, stuffed with raisins and coconut) and the homemade pistachio ice cream (made right in their kitchen).
Taco Revolution
After serving infamously delicious Mexican and Columbian dishes from their food truck for years, Taco Revolution has opened a restaurant space in Horace! Having garnered rave reviews for its authentic Mexican cuisine, Taco Revolution has empanadas, arepas, al pastor tacos, and much more. The community has praised not only the food’s high quality but also the welcoming and conversational nature of the staff, with emphasis on the effort and love put into every dish!

From prints and art from both your favorite shows and her original art, to stickers and apparel, if you’re a fan of Japanese animation, you’re going to want to stop by.
Milk Made Catering
Another local favorite moved into a permanent space this past year, as Milk Made Catering found its home in a space near 25th St! Not only does this make picking up your preordered charcuterie spreads easy and quick, but you can shop all of those snacking essentials while you’re picking it up. Or, you can build your own by stopping in. Either way, from the cheese queen herself, you can now find all the cheese and its pairings in one brick-and-mortar location.
